Authorised Person LV Training (AP/LV12)
This Three-Day course sets out to ensure an awareness of the requirements within the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 & BS7671 with regard to the principals of Safe Isolation Procedures & the theory behind Single & Three phase systems. It is designed for experienced electrical personnel who work on or around electrical apparatus and within LV-HV Switch-rooms.
The delegates will receive a mixture of theory & practical demonstrations, and be required to operate the GS38 Test Equipment to ensure an understanding of the isolation techniques and the testing principles that will have been explained. We will also deliver practical demonstrations and assessments as part of the itinerary.
The course is ideal for professional electrical personnel involved in low voltage installations and maintenance, normally in an industrial or large commercial environment. This course focuses on practical isolation skills and procedures, as well as regulatory knowledge of safety procedures, ensuring delegates can authorise and oversee electrical work within current industry standards.
This is a Three-Day Course, which wholly covers the curriculum of content required for AP/LV Training. Whereas several training companies will cover this course as a four-day programme, we have designed it for marginally longer days and cater for smaller contained groups, to ensure the topics are fully reviewed and assessed in that time-frame.
Delegates will receive learning materials outlining all subjects covered as well as a City & Guilds Approved CPD Certificate upon successful completion of the Course.
PLEASE NOTE: We also offer this course as a bespoke package for companies, and we can run it as the HTM-06-02 package required for NHS personnel for Authorised Person status.
The key Learning objectives that the course will cover are:
- Requirements of Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- Review and apply the content of all current HSE & IET documentation
- Review of working procedures to HTM 06-02 (if applicable)
