  • Requirements for inspecting, and recording the condition of electrical installations

  • Requirements for completing the safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations

  • Requirements for completing the periodic inspection of electrical installations

  • Differences between periodic inspection and initial verification

  • Requirements for testing before circuits are live.

  • Requirements for testing live installations

  • Understanding and interpreting test results

  • Requirements for the completion of electrical installation condition reports

  • Carrying out inspection of electrical installations prior to them being put into service

  • Produce a condition report with recording observations and classification

In order to claim the full 2391-51 qualification, students must complete the following 3 units:

⦁    On-Line multiple choice exam – 40-Question, Open Book

⦁    1Hour 20 minutes Written Exam (pre-set by the City & Guilds)

⦁    Practical Assessment

Practical/theory Assessments 1.  Visual inspection (30 minutes) – closed book. 2.  Electrical Condition Report and test (1 hours 30 minutes plus 30 minutes to complete paperwork) – open 

Required Literature:

BS7671: 2018 - 18th Edition and Guidance Note 3 with the Blue band at bottom (to comply with the 18th Edition)
